The nine parts of what you get:

• Phone Consultation prior to shoot  --this will be a brief conversation for Donna to start to get a sense of what you do and start percolating on the types of shots she will take

• Up to 40 minutes in-studio photo session  --this is the session including time for wardrobe changes

• One set-up with generic or plain background: a generic background is like blurred background but not on solid colored paper. A plain background is gray or white background).

• Two wardrobe changes - you might choose to have a casual shot but then also a formal shot with a business jacket

• Online Gallery for your preview -  This is a webpage where you can go to view the proofs on the web, so that you can make their selections there of which photos you want to use.

• The best 2 photos (decided by you and Donna) will be touched-up and delivered by email in a super high resolution file (no prints)

• Make-up application: It's important to note that this doesn't include hairstyling. Make up application is when a professional make-up artist applies make-up appropriate for a photo shoot recommended for both men and women doing a photo shoot. The look that we're going for is 'natural' (nothing too heavy or drag queen like). Hairstyling is when hair gets curled or straightened or styled. For men, hairstyling is when you put gel or other products. These are 2 different processes. To cut the cost, only make-up application is offered since most people know how to style their own hair.
  

• A copy of all the images on disc is available for additional fee of $75, additional touch up only for extra $25 - this cost is there because it takes Donna a lot of her personal time to output all the shots. Output is the actual post production process to produce a physical CD that contains all the files. Her promise to you is that out of the session you can get 2 touched up photos deliverable by email. In the photo session, she will take a lot of photos - if you want all of those, you will have to pay $75 extra. If 2 photos are not enough and you want an extra photo to be touched up, that's additional $25 per photo. Believe me - that's a bargain still.

Why your photos matter today more than ever:

But, if you're not quite ready, let me tell you why I think getting an updated series of photos for your 'look' is vital and why you should do it with her.

We live in a day and age where people are more skeptical than ever about advertising, marketing and business. Cynicism is rampant. Dealing with faceless corporations in the age of facebook is losing its luster.

In the age of social media - relationships matter more than they ever have.

So does authenticity.

People smell bullshit faster than ever before.

And attention spans are shorter than they've ever been.

So you have to capture their attention FAST. And they need to get that you're 'REAL' extremely quickly too. Within seconds of seeing your marketing materials (e.g. brochures, business cards, websites, posters) they will decide if you are relevant to them and whether or not they like and trust you.

Harsh but true.

Those who know me, know that I am a fan of words over images. So much advertising focuses on pretty pictures and lots of white space with inane slogans. Boo. If I had to choose beautiful images over the right words - I would choose words every time.

With one possible exception - if the image is of YOU.

There are three possible scenarios:

• SCENARIO #1: No Photo. This is terrible. Reading a bio without a photo feels hollow. They get no sense of you as a 'person'. You will seem abstract.

• SCENARIO #2: A Bad Photo. This might even be worse. I can't tell you how many ads I've seen for holistic practitioners where they practitioner looks unhealthy. That's worse than 'no photo'. It's like screaming at them 'this doesn't work'. Or like a happiness coach with a photo of them that makes them look too serious. No go. Start over. Or a photo that is 'tooooo professional'. You know the type. it looks like they're trying soooo hard to seem powerful. Maybe the photo is blurry, grainy, shadowy etc. Or the photo is fine but what they're wearing isn't working. Or they really could have used a bit of makeup to take some of the shine off their face.

The wrong photo can absolutely kill an ad dead and send people reeling in horror from your website. The following photo has been on the homepage of my website  for 6 years . . .

I can't tell you how many people have told me they hate the photo on my old website www.tadhargrave.com - I actually liked it when I first got. Okay. I loved it! But after twenty people you like tell you it's terrible and they hate it (seriously - people would make a point of pulling me aside at my workshops to tell me that they hated that picture, that I looked nothing like it in person, that it had turned them off - no joke) . . .
